2. SBA Paycheck Protection Program (PPP)

On April 24, 2020, the Congress has signed into law to provide additional $310 billion to the Paycheck Protection Program available to qualified small businesses. For those of you who have already applied for the SBA PPP in response to an earlier legislature, please do not re-file a new application. We will make sure to follow up with you on the status of your loan.

To all of you applying for the PPP program, including existing and new applications, please note that SBA recently issued a new guidance that strengthen the language regarding qualification for PPP Loan. Please consider reading the Frequently Asked Question (FAQ) released by the SBA regarding the PPP. Under question 31, applicants are reminded that “before submitting a PPP application, all borrowers should review carefully the required certification that current economic uncertainty makes this loan request necessary to support the ongoing operations of the Applicant. Borrowers must make this certification in good faith, taking into account their current business activity and their ability to access other sources of liquidity sufficient to support their ongoing operations in a manner that is not significantly detrimental to the business. For example, it is unlikely that a public company with substantial market value and access to capital markets will be able to make the required certification in good faith, and such a company should be prepared to demonstrate to SBA, upon request, the basis for its certification.”

Please remember that you are certifying and understood that knowingly making false statement to obtain the guaranteed loan from SBA is punishable under the law, including under 18 USC 1001 and 3571 by imprisonment or not more than five years and/or a fine of up to $250,000; under 15 USC 645 by imprisonment of not more than two years and/or a fine of not more than $5,000; and, if submitted to a federally insured institution, under 18 USC 1014 by imprisonment of not more than thirty years and/or a fine of not more than $1,000,000.

5. Guidelines

We urge you to follow these CDC guidelines when planning to visit our branches:

  • Please stay home if you are sick
  • Follow the safe distance guidance of maintaining 6 feet from all individuals
  • Clean and/or sanitize your hand often and avoid contacts with your eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands
